Under the Environmental Policy, the Company is committed to maintaining sound environmental practices in all its activities, working closely with its communities in doing so.

The Company is advancing the Wicheeda Project through proper permitting and a prefeasibility study.

GOVERNANCE + LEADERSHIP

Responsibility and sustainability are embedded in the governing principles and practices of the Board of Directors, who oversee the Company’s ESG performance. The Board provides leadership in setting and supervising standards of Corporate Governance, creating a culture of integrity throughout the Company.

AUDIT COMMITTEE

  • Reviews key risk and mitigation presentation by management in Q1 of each year.

  • Specific committees given responsibility to review and monitor these key risks and mitigation measures.

  • Audit Committee’s recommendations are then discussed and reviewed with the Board Executive Compensation.

  • Approach to executive compensation described in the compensation discussion and analysis section of the information circular for its AGM​.

The Company fosters positive local relationships by keeping an open dialogue with community stakeholders, and by supporting local community initiatives. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with local community stakeholders is an ongoing commitment to create mutually beneficial success.

  • Zero spills or environmental incidents.

  • Zero lost time injuries ("LTI").

  • Defense Metals staff has worked 200+ days without an LTI.

  • COVID-19 pandemic prevention plan implemented; no cases of COVID-19 reported in company.

  • Contractors have worked over 3 years with zero lost time accidents.
